Sue Scheff – Teen Transports – Teen Escorts – Parenting Teens, Making Hard Decisions
Hiring a transport company or sometimes referred to as escorts – can be very stressful and scary to a parent. How do you assure your child will be safe?
How do you know you are hiring the right company?
Do your homework!
Take the time to call others that have used the specific company you are interviewing. This is the first step towards your child’s second chance to have a brighter future.
When most parents get to the point of looking for outside intervention, it is usually due to the child’s behavior is escalating to a self-destructing path.
As a parent, it is our responsibility to get help and take the time to investigate and make the appropriate calls and interviews.
Be sure the Transport Company is licensed and insured to transport teens. Ask as many questions as you have. All your questions should be answered to your satisfaction.
Since having a teen transporting to a program or school is a huge decision, it is not to be taken lightly. After you have selected the program for your child, if you need transports, you need to again take the time to interview and research who will travel with your child.
My book, “Wit’s End!” is now available online at www.witsendbook.com – I have dedicated a chapter about teen escorting/transporting to help educate parents on this “new” field they are entering when dealing with an at risk teenager.
Choosing the right school or program is your first major step to throwing your teen a second chance at a healthy future. Choosing the right transport company is definitely your second major step, if you have to use this avenue. Some parents are able to bring their teens, however it is more often that transport services are used. So take your time to do your research.
Remember, this is not kidnapping! You will find some sensational stories of transports, which may or may not be true, however if you take your time as a parent and look for a qualified transport company, the transition can become a smooth experience. In most of the parents and teens I have spoken with, they have remained in touch with their transport person and are eventually grateful for saving their lives.
Pictured above is Lorraine Colpitts who has successfully transported many teens into safe programs and schools. She is someone that takes this job to her heart. As a parent herself, part of her success is due to her compassion to treat each family as her own.
